Frequently Asked Questions
How long can I hire a skip for?
Prices quoted from Network Waste allow you to hire a skip for up to two weeks. You can, of course, request a collection if you need it for less
time. However, if you require a skip for a longer period of time, please call us on 0845 450 8202 for more information.
Do I require any permits / documents to hire a skip?
If you plan to keep the skip on a public road, you will require a permit from your local council. Typically, a permit
will allow you to place a skip on the road for a minimum of one week, but varies depending on your area.
How much does a permit cost?
The cost of a permit is also dependant on your area, but often varies around £30 to £60. At Network Waste, we can
purchase permits on your behalf with your skip order if required. In the unlikely event you cannot obtain an off-road
permit, you might want to consider a "wait and load" service instead.
What is a "Wait and Load" service?
With our wait and load service, a skip lorry is sent to your site, and waits for 20-30 minutes while the skip is being
filled. After this time, the filled skip is taken away for disposal. This is an ideal service if you have time-limited
parking facilities, or cannot obtain an off-road permit.
What do I do when my skip is full?
When your skip is ready for collection, simply contact us to arrange a collection. Alternatively, if your skip is full
and you require another empty skip, contact us to book an exchange.
